Are you looking to buy swivel design flash drives? Ones that are even customizable? Then consider Super Talent’s SM series.
Blue SM Flash Drive by Super Talent
First of all, what does the SMstand for?
It could mean “
SMooth”
. Or “SMart”. Maybe “SMidgeon”. Or how about “SliM”?
Then again it could be an intial for “Solid Memory” or “Swivel Me”.
Honestly, I don’t know.
All I hope is that it wasn’t conjured up by a certain fetishist with a twisted sense of humor…
Ok, on to the useful information. As you probably guessed already, the SM series is manufactured by Super Talent. That company has been around for 20 years after it was birthed by the Silicon Valley boom. They’re specialized in memory technology and all their flash drives pride themselves on certain standards. SM memory sticks make no exception and this is what they are:
- Compatibility with U
SB 1.0 and 2.0.
- LED indicator for power and activity.
- Hot plug & play.
- Keychain ring.
-
A
data retention of more than 10 years
.
-
Lifetime warranty.
Then we have the specifics which mark the SM’s individuality:
- The 7 color variations of black, blue, red, silver, violet (purple), yellow or white.
- The capacities of 1, 2, 4, 8 or 16GB.
-

.

SM Flash Drives by Super Talent
What gives SM flash drives their real distinctive charm though is the rubber body and steel swivel. First gives it a nice grip and latter protects the USB interface so you don’t need to worry about losing a cap like with so many other memory sticks.
If you go for the SM_R series you can actually choose your swivel lid in either black, white, gray or gold and customize it. You can print your logo or name on it which is ideal for promotional use. The printable area is 12mm x 25mm which is more than sufficient.
Pretty neat, huh? As always, feel free to comment and share your experience with SM memory sticks. And let’s hear it if you have better ideas for what SM stands for. Maybe you actually know?
